The Frugal Travel Guy again bagged this year’s Ward for the Best Budget Travel Blog. This is not surprising the fact that Rick Ingersoll really did great in giving travel hackers and wannabees briiliant tips and guides on how to become travel cheap or even free. He is a retired mortgage banker and frequent world traveler. He never fails to find out and scavenge on deals that will make his travels budget-friendly. He freely shares his experiences and ideas to his readers – from acquiring frequent flyer miles to redeeming hotel rewards points, everything is shared. He is a great teacher when it comes reducing travel budgets for life.
“My true intent is to teach people how to do this themselves,” he says, “so that they can see the world at prices we can all afford. I love showing average folks like me, who think they can’t afford to travel, that they can by following the tips, deals, and advice I post on the Frugal Travel Guy blog every day.”
Among the winning features that the Frugal Travel Guy has is its weekly “Rookie Travel Tips” which is written by Ingersoll’s daughter, Shannon Watson. This is a great guide for people who are just starting out with travel hacking. Also, his son shares posts and photographs too, which showcases his own traveling experiences. Another interesting part is the “Sunday Success Stories” where avid readers share their experiences as they followed Ingersoll’s advices, which allowed them to afford their dream travels.
With all that being said about Frugal Travel Guy, I am convinced that the award is well deserved.
